OUR CSR APPROACH
SIMI implements a rigorous sustainable development policy based on several key areas of action:
WASTE MANAGEMENT
We have implemented a strict waste management policy.
During the set-up and dismantling phases, cardboard and wood are collected for recycling.
Recycling bins are placed throughout the event to encourage waste sorting and recycling.
Water fountains have also been installed to reduce the use of plastic bottles.
ACCESSIBILITY FOR ALL
SIMI is 100% accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM), ensuring an inclusive experience for all participants.
CONTROLLED ENERGY CONSUMPTION
We optimise our energy consumption by switching off air conditioning and heating during the set-up and dismantling phases.
The event is gradually transitioning to LED lighting throughout, including stands and common areas, to reduce its carbon footprint.
Carpet use is limited, eco-friendly cleaning products are used, and reusable materials as well as FSC- or PEFC-certified materials are prioritised.
The technical manual also guides exhibitors towards more responsible practices.
REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We actively encourage visitors and exhibitors to use public transport, soft mobility solutions and carpooling in order to reduce the event’s carbon footprint.
RESPONSIBLE MARKETING
Our programme, digital catalogue and event map are available in digital format to minimise printing. We also encourage our partners to limit the distribution of newspapers and magazines.
The furniture used to distribute visitor materials is reused from one edition to the next, while our badge holders are made from eco-friendly materials.
SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS
Our catering services incorporate sustainable practices, including enhanced waste sorting and the recycling of green waste into compost. We actively work to reduce resource waste and promote the use of recyclable and recycled products.
Unconsumed food is redistributed to charities, while the glass bottles used are collected through a deposit-return system and recycled. We also prioritise local and French-sourced raw materials.
