The Crop of Awards for the 2017 SIMI
The commercial real estate show unveiled the winners of the Best of SIMI awards and the SIMI Junior Property Award 2017.
The 16th SIMI, the real estate industry’s key business event, organized by Infopro Digital, awarded prizes to both well established names in the sector and promising young talent, for the innovative character and level of excellence of their projects.
The Best of SIMI awards 2017, sponsored by Generali Real Estate, were attributed by a prestigious jury chaired by Alain Béchade, professor emeritus of CNAM (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers) in conjunction with property directors from Naval Group, Orange, Bolloré Transport et Logistics, Thalès and Vente Privée, plus the Director of sustainable development of Groupama Immobilier and the Managing director of Careit. “The Best of SIMI awards commend the property schemes that bring honour to the industry” said Alain Béchade. This year, 30 projects competed in the Best of SIMI awards.
The companies that contributed to transforming office space are, in 6 categories:
- New Office Building category over 50,000 sq m
LINUX (LIMONEST – 69), presented by DCB INTERNATIONAL. The prize is awarded to a new office building above 5,000 sq m, located in France and completed between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
- New Office Building category over 50,000 sq m
LES DUNES (FONTENAY –SOUS-BOIS 94), presented by LA SOCIETE GENERALE. The prize is awarded to a new office building above 50,000 sq m, located in France and completed between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
- Logistics category:
LogOne (MOISSY – CRAMAYEL – 77), presented by PRD. The prize is awarded to a new or renovated building, located in France, completed and operational between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
- Renovated office building category or refurbishment of an office building or particularly innovative office refurbishment:
QUAI OUEST (BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT – 92), presented by EMERIGE. The prize is awarded to a renovated office building or the interior refurbishment of an office building of more than 5,000 sq m, located in France and completed between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
- Mixed building category:
AIRBUS HELICOPTERS PARIS – LE BOURGET (DUGNY – 93), presented by KARDHAM CARDETE HUET ARCHITECTURE. The prize is awarded to a mixed-use building (industry, R&D, workshops), new or renovated, of more than 3,000 sq m, located in France and completed between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
- Service sector building category:
THECAMP (AIX-EN-PROVENCE – 13), presented by REDMAN. The prize is awarded to a new or renovated Services Sector building (hotel, serviced residence, healthcare facility or retail), located in France, completed between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
SIMI Junior Award 2017
Sponsored by Fondation Palladio, under the auspices of Fondation de France was awarded at the opening of the Best of SIMI Awards. The prize rewards the dissertation of a student in the final year of graduate studies providing a critical and innovative view of the commercial real estate industry and the construction of cities. The jury, under the chairmanship of Sébastien Matty, Chairman of GA Smart Building, comprised directors from Wesbrook Properties, Société Foncière Lyonnaise, Redevco, Eiffage Construction, Groupe Duval, Société du Grand Paris, Nexity and Paris Aéroports.
This year the prize was awarded to:
Corentin LE FAUCHEUR – Ecole d’ingénieurs de l’Université d’Angers (ISTIA) – Masters MEPI (Maintenance et Exploitation des Patrimoines Immobiliers), for his dissertation: “The Development of services that enable the re-utilization and re-distribution of components of a building in use”, for his project to create a new profession in the industry: re-use management.
This was the 10th junior award and it was open to students in public or private higher education, from establishments providing courses on real estate and the city. They had to present a dissertation the subject of which was the real estate industry and the construction of the city. The number of contenders confirms the success and the pertinence of this unique prize in the real estate industry.
The junior prize ceremonies and the Best of SIMI awards took place on December 8 at 11:15 and 12:00.
“This year we were particularly proud to have been able to give awards to these candidates and projects. The winners shone by the inventiveness of their solutions and their force of conviction,” said Catherine Sachreiter, Show Director of SIMI. “SIMI 2017 ended on a particularly positive note for the future of real estate, which is in a state of transformation, with visionary innovations, responsibilities and ambitions for users, cities and territories.”
